The rogue watch is designed by TokyoFlash in Japan and has a very unique and interesting design. You tell the time by looking at the gaps in the pattern. The inner circle tells the hour, the tiny lights around the very edge tell the minutes, the largest sections tell the minutes to the closest 5 minute period, and the half-circle arc tells whether it is AM or PM (in this case it is to the left, so AM). It’s a crazy watch, but it was very fun to shoot.
The watch itself is highly reflective, so I built my own light-tent-triangle out of white plexiglass and shot the watch from above. It was lit with 3 Canon speedlites at various power levels through the white plexi — providing nice, soft, even lighting for those gorgeous highlights.
